Now that the National Monument has been expanded, we call for adequate funding and resources for the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument and the Angeles National Forest in order to ensure proper and sustainable visitor management, facilities that will help protect our watersheds, the rich biodiversity in our forest while providing a dignified and safe environment for everyone.
We denounce any further possible budget cuts to the Forest Service and reduction of staff in the Angeles Forest. Budget cuts will compromise the visitor experience and make it more difficult for community members to be able to enjoy public lands.
Over 18 million people live near these beautiful public lands. Protecting them helps increase equitable access to nature, improves public health, protects cultural sites, and conserves a critical source of drinking water for local residents.”
More than ever we are asking for the continued protection of the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument! Join us in asking for the protection and adequate funds and resources for the newly expanded San Gabriel Mountains National Monument!
